Ouch! That Hurts!!!

Friday night in Athens, GA, I separated my shoulder working out. I actually fell into a perfect jujitsu roll got up and kept running the drill I was doing. About ten seconds later I knew something was wrong. The picture you see here is a pretty good description of what happened. It's not dislocated but it is separated. I'm in a sling for 4-5 weeks and will learn more from a surgeon tomorrow of what all more I'll need in order to heal up.

With all the conviction I've been under the last 3 months about working out, healthy eating and so on, I am reminded that I never separated my shoulder while eating chips on the couch watching football. Hmmmm....

4 years ago today

Well today is a day that will always, for the rest of my life, be bittersweet. Bitter in that my dear father died 4 years ago today but oh so sweet in that Nate was born 7 years ago today. I'm glad Dad is where he is but I just miss him a lot. At 40 I could sure use a 70 year old dad at times.

Nate is all the a 7 year old truly should be - funny, curious, busy, skinned up knees, into sports, loves his mommy and is a bit of a clown too. Dad would love Nate no matter how he is but he would love him especially as he is.

Less of Ann is Better for Me

After watching Ann Coulter on Today this morning, I am just about sure that I now understand why so many people find her so annoying. I know I now do.
