From a first time blogger, thoughts about life from an American missionary now living in the US after years in Russia and doing a lot of back and forth. Family stuff, Christian content, sports innuendo and lots of quotes from good books.
Is there anything that sums up Christmas like that "bom...bom...bom" base line of the Little Drummer Boy song? Man, I start doing my William Golden mimic everytime I hear it.

I'm a 6-7 red head who wanted to play for the Celtics during the Bird Era. When the 1992 NBA Draft failed to call my name (such a shock), I moved to Venezuela as a missionary. The Carribean was apparently too warm for me so I moved to Siberia instead. As of August 15 of 2004, I'm trying to figure out how to live in America again. So far, so good...

Come on Uncle Terry. Oak Ridge Boys? Mountain Man? American Indian Hero? You know the one. He's not the base singer actually but I still always think of him when I think of the ORB and when you think of them you cannot help but think of the guy with the deep voice. I never really listened to them but a couple times. They were far from my cup o tea. That would explain why i don't know any of their names. Thanks for the info though. Were they country, i never liked country much.
