A moment

What a busy (and fun summer). I actually am in the middle of a very busy day but a) I happened to have my notebook with me and b) there is a free hot spot where I am waiting indefinitely for a box of supplies I need. So, I'm blogging.

It's been great to be back in Novosibirsk this summer. My family left in August of last year. It's been a hard 9 months really. Living with my in-laws in Atlanta has been chocked full of blessings (mostly) but we're really enjoying being in our own home here. As for our home in the U.S. come fall, that's gonna take some really God intervention to get done. We're focused on the moment right now but will happily see what God will unfold for us come fall in Atlanta.

Random thoughts:
There is no shortage of entertainment dollar/ruble options here in Novosibirsk. New shopping malls (malls...really) are popping up every where. Many fine dining establishments exists as well as more than a few not too fine dining estabs too.

It was in the low 90's for a week straight here in late July. It felt like 120 or so as we have no air conditioning here. It was miserable. Back to 70's now (fall is upon us) so all is well.

My kids are truly at home here. It amazes me how well they fit in here. Nate cried a river when I told him I bought our return tickets the U.S. yesterday. Their hearts truly are on two continents, in 2 countries, cultures and languages.

Our work here this has gone fantastic. I might post my newsletters later here. We'll see. Amazing what kind of favor and open doors God has given us here.

Bunch of guys from high school who really have grown up but enjoy falling back into high school from time to time. Enter it at your own risk and enjoy. Lots of inside jokes. 70% of adult Russians carry cell phones and their cell phones are much cooler than ours in the U.S. GSM is the way to go!

August has traditionally been a very tough month for Russia. That sub situation in the Far East turning out as well as did was very, very refreshing to us all.

There are wifi zones all over this city in central Siberia. Amazing to think how this specific technology as permeated the world.

Traci and I were married 3,692 days ago. Thank you www.timeanddate.com!

Tina Turner is still very, very popular in Russia. So are Abba, The Beatles, The Scorpions and some group called "Corridor".

New York Diner has the best cheeseburgers in all of Russia. I've not had one in 2 months (watching what I eat) but trust me when I say they are the bomb.
